What is the difference between IT'S and ITS in English?
Yes, this is a common mistake even native English speakers have when writing. When do you put an apostrophe and do you leave it out?
One is a contraction and the other is a possessive adjective.
In this ESL video we look at this difference in more detail and have included examples of the uses of these homophones (words that sound the same though have a different meaning).
There is also an example that uses both IT'S and ITS in the same sentence.
