Happy #TherapyTipTuesday! This is the next step for children that have mastered last week’s tip. It is great for strengthening upper and lower extremities, improving core control, and helping children transition to kneeling.
Be sure to share this tip if you feel it can benefit others! Consult with your local therapist to determine if this tip is safe and appropriate for your child. If you have difficulty performing this tip, please contact me via direct message and I will do my best to respond within 24 hours!
For this tip, help the child into tall kneeling in front of an incline. The incline should be at a height that allows the child to reach forward while not resting their body over it. Prompt the child to reach forward to catch a ball or toy car and roll it down. Prevent them from sitting on their heels during the activity and encourage them to maintain the tall kneeling position throughout. Repeat the activity as tolerated to help the child kneel with a straight posture .
