One-shoulder gladiator dresses, tight suede jeans, and off-kilter ruffle skirts were among the items that reaffirmed Dell'Acqua's unique aesthetic.

What it lacked, though, was any suggestion of what more the designer could achieve.

Alessandro Dell'Acqua is known for his hard-edged femininity.

Embroidered transparent gowns, which had appeared fragile on other runways, were robust and rebellious here, belted with broad, tooled belts or braided leather cords.

With a mannish sweater, a driving helmet, and dizzyingly high punched-suede shoe-boots, a wispy chiffon slip looked almost frightening; and crisscrossed lace strips on breezy tops conjured up images of a sultry gunslinger.
