The Bajau Laut people in Malaysian Borneo are some of the last marine nomads in the world. These ‘sea gypsies’ are truly masters of the sea, having roamed the waters of the ‘Coral Triangle’ between Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia for many generations, rarely setting foot on land.
Although a number of them have given up their nomadic lifestyle to settle permanently on land in search of greater stability, a sizeable population still live in wooden houseboats or stilt huts built atop coral reefs near the islands of Semporna, Sabah.
AerialAsia is a series shot in stunning 4K that reveals a spectacular view of Asia that has never been seen before.
