Join me on this journey in the seated carriage aboard the Caledonian Sleeper between Edinburgh and London Euston!
There are a number of YouTube videos about the Caledonian Sleeper. Though most of them focus on mainly reviewing the sleeper cabins or seated carriages and other aspects of the journey. This video I've filmed is different, as it concentrates on the journey itself and features a fair chunk of window footage of the actual journey. With an advertised journey time of 7 hours 35 minutes(though most of the time it takes less than this) between Edinburgh and London Euston, and the majority of the journey being in darkness, this journey - unlike all my other journey videos, is a bit too long to film a full uncut video of the journey. However I did film a fair chunk of the journey for this video!
This 2 hour 20 minute long video basically consists of two halves. The first half being condensed footage of the journey between Edinburgh and Preston(an unadvertised stop due to a pathing stop and staffing reasons), including arriving into and departing the intermediate stops of Carstairs and Carlisle. Then the second half is full uncut footage of the journey between Wilton Marina(several minutes after running through Rugby) and London Euston as daylight breaks through.
This is quite a long video, and my longest journey video yet! If you are able to, I would recommend watching this video in one sitting if you can. If you do, to some extent you will experience what it's like to be onboard the Caledonian Sleeper in the seated carriage and looking out the window for a fair amount of the journey!
As with all my other videos, this video features optional captions of the stations stopped at/passed as well as the other rail services we pass during the journey. Plus some limited caption commentary too, including my opinions of this journey - my first trip onboard the Caledonian Sleeper. To get the best out of this video and to view it as I intended, I recommend you watch with the CC/subtitles option enabled.
