On this episode of my podcast The Filmcraziest Show, I was able to speak with Desiree Connell (co-director, screenwriter) and Scott Hansen (co-director, story by) about their new horror film "Bad Candy," a film that could easily get you into the spooky season.
The film stars a pair of radio DJ's, Chilly Billy (Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor) and Paul ("Gremlins" star Zach Galligan), who live in the town New Salem. On Halloween night, they tell spooky stories and local myths over the radio, in fables that often turn out poorly for the morally corrupt, or for those who disrespect Halloween traditions.
In our conversation, we touch on them not fully considering it an anthology film; we talk about adding to the Halloween resurgence, a morgue scene, the scenes they had the most fun shooting, the radio booth and Halloween traditions. There's more in between, too.
"Bad Candy" is currently playing in select theatres this weekend, and will be available to rent on On Demand platforms (like iTunes) starting Tuesday, Sept. 14, with a Blu-Ray release date on Oct. .12.
