I picked this Shure microphone up around 15 years ago, thinking, and hoping, that it was the real deal. It most certainly was not. I used it for a while, then tossed it aside when I realised it was fake.
I recently took it out to record some drums and was SO surprised by the sound I got out of it! In some ways it sounds better to my ear than the result Shure Beta 57a.
In this video I test it out recording snare and floor tom to see how it fares against the real deal.
