Filipino Spaghetti
Ingredients
- 1 red onion(chopped)
- 5 cloves garlic(minced)
- 3 tbsp neutral oil
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 28oz can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup banana ketchup
- 2 tbsp condensed milk
- 2 cups filipino red hot dogs(sliced)
- 1.5 tbsp brown sugar
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- MSG to taste(optional)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- Spaghetti
- Grated processed cheese(Try to get the Eden filipino brand cheese)
Instructions
1. Brown ground beef with neutral oil on medium high heat.
2. Once browned, add onions and garlic and sauté until translucent.
3. Add tomato paste and cook for a few minutes to cook off acidity.
4. Pour in crushed tomatoes, banana ketchup, condensed milk, and Filipino hot dogs.
5. Season with brown sugar, salt, msg, black pepper, soy sauce, and fish sauce and simmer for 30 minutes,
6. Boil spaghetti noodles in salted water according to package instructions(you don’t want the pasta to be al dente).
7. Serve with grated processed cheese(you can put the cheese in the freezer to harden up so it is easier to grate).
