Les Miserables is up for best picture at this year's Oscars, Kate Abbott storms the barricades to sing the praises of Les Miserables, Tom Hooper's adaptation of the ever-popular stage musical, based on Victor Hugo's book which is widely considered one of the greatest novels of the 19th century.
