In today's quick tutorial I talk about why my Dyson vacuum has lost suction. In this video, I demonstrate a common clog in many upright Dyson vacuums including my Dyson Ball Animal 2.
There is something called the change valve which switches suction from the wand or hose to the base or roller. This has a tight bend in it and can easily clog from pet hair, debris or even a small children's sock. If this valve is clogged or stuck, it will not drop or lift as it is designed to. So if you notice you no longer have suction when switching between the roller and wand or hose attachment, check to see and make sure this valve is switching properly when you drop the arm down or lift it up. Many times, you can easily see an obstruction preventing this from working properly.
Once cleared, you should have full suction back on your Dyson vacuum!
Hope this helped!
