How to make a healthy Chinese Pear & Coconut Soup

500g Whole Chicken bone (整隻雞骨架)
60g Dried Snow Pear (雪梨片)
2 pcs Dried Honey Dates (蜜枣)
2 pcs Dried Fig (无花果)
15g Sea Coconut (海底椰)
10g Dried Almond Seed (南杏)
10g Radix Glehnia Root (沙参)
10g Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae (川贝)
The Pear & Coconut Soup is one of the many types of traditional Chinese dessert soups - also known as 'tong sui'. Typically, us Chinese consume them not only because they taste good but also for combating the effects from external factors to our health.
For this dessert soup, the sea coconut and snow pears in them have cooling and hydrating properties that nourishes skin, clears phlegm, relieves coughing and moistens dry throats. You're don't have to necessarily be sick to get these symptoms but due to external elements like weather, your body will have some form of reaction to it.
This soup is fairly easy to make, you can go source these items individually or you can always get a soup pack from the Chinese medicine hall. Every halls have different recipes but here is ours. Easy to make - this soup will help dispel heatiness while addressing the root cause of coughs and dry skin.
Made from all-natural traditional Chinese ingredients - we use only natural sweeteners such as snow pear (雪梨片), Mutcho dates (蜜枣) and figs (无花果). They're already naturally sweet so there are no need for processed sweeteners.

1. Sea coconut helps nourish the lungs, relieve coughing and dispels heatiness.
2. Dried snow pears are an excellent source of soluble and insoluble fibre, helps maintain bowel regularity by softening and bulking up stool.
3. Dried snow pears are low in calories, containing vitamin C, K, copper and potassium all of which are essential for blood and bone health.
4. Dried figs are a good fruit source of calcium, which is essential for healthy bones. Dried figs also have high potassium content that counteracts the urinary excretion of calcium caused by high salt diets. It also helps to keep calcium in bones, lessening the risk of osteoporosis.
5. Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae is a traditional medicine which aids in relieving cough and reducing phlegm.
