Used when a player needs to turn sharply while maintaining strong stability like when you're stepping around a player in a 1-on-1 and about to receive some body contact. Lead with your stick, sink your entire body into the tight turn. Inside skate grips the ice with the heel of the outside edge (don't be afraid to lift the toe off the ice quite a bit), inside leg has a strong bend with most of your weight resting on it. Outside leg holds a wide base gripping the ice with the heel of the inside edge. Lean aggressively by dipping your inside shoulder and hip into the direction of the turn. Exit the turn with speed by executing forward half crossovers at the apex of the turn just over the half way point at 120˚
