(14 Oct 2020) Russian spokesman for Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov on Wednesday said the Kremlin was "clearly not ready to tolerate the type of the attitude" it has experienced regarding Alexei Navalny, commenting on action taken by the European Union.
The Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union on 14 October agreed on a sanctions list against Russia over the poisoning of Navalny.
On other issues, Peskov said that Russian officials "expressed concern" on the violation of a ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"We consider the military actions have to be stopped as soon as possible. We have to move to the political-diplomatic settlement method (of the conflict)," Peskov added.
He said also that Russian authorities were checking information regarding shelling of Armenian territory by Azerbaijan.
Speaking on the extension of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, Peskov said Russia and the United States understood the necessity to do it, but there are not yet any "ironclad" agreements between countries.
