You can make a beautiful wood keepsake or jewelry box without making it overly complicated or using advanced woodworking techniques. I made a clean, modern wood box for drawing pencils floating around the shop, but this box project may look better as a jewelry box sitting on a nightstand or a display item on a coffee table. I really like the project’s ability to be customized. You could add a handle or knob to the front, change the size, or add legs. I used sycamore and ebony for my keepsake box, but it will look good with just about any wood species.
