What does an Extractor Fan do?
Hello and welcome to Electric World TV.
Today we will be answering one of the many questions we get asked in a new series of short videos called Frequently Answered Questions.
Today’s question is simply, “What does an Extractor Fan Do?”
Well, put simply, an extractor fan removes moist or stale air.
A motorised impeller spins which draws air through a duct to expel the air from a room.
By drawing air out, fresh air from the rest of the house will be drawn in to replace the exiting air.
In a bathroom, this removal of the humid air after a shower or bath removes as much of the moisture out of the atmosphere as possible before it can condense on surfaces causing mould and/or damp problems.
