In this video, I am turning a half log of cherry. The intent is to turn it into a natural edge bowl by turning it "opposite" of normal. In the end, the shape is right, but the outcome is not...

I made a few mistakes during the turning of this bowl, and most of them were able to be corrected. While finishing the piece, I made the biggest rookie mistake. Not making sure my turning will clear the toolrest. Now it may just be firewood.

I switched gouges multiple times to keep a sharp edge, and used a scraper throughout to keep it clean. I wish I would have used a screw chuck instead of he spur center to turn the outside, but it did work out in the end.

If you have any ideas on how to salvage this turning, please leave them in the comments. I have been thinking a lot about this bowl, and think I can use multiple glue blocks to get it back in shape, and finish the piece.
