About Ted |
My name is Ted Stockton, some call me Teddy. I was born and raised an Iowa man with two moms. When I was 14 I picked up my first guitar, strapped it on my back and rode my bicycle to a local hangout called United Action for Youth in Iowa City, the town I grew up in. They had a room set up with a drum set, bass amp, and guitar amp, along with acoustic guitars in the main room of the building, and there were volunteers who would help teach, along with the other musicians who would come hang out and share their knowledge of music. During the summers I would do this every day, and learned a lot about what I love doing, which is playing music.
Artists such as Slash from Guns n’ Roses, and Pantera’s Dimebag Darrell Abbott were my inspiration as a young guitarist, and as I grew older my influences changed and I found my voice. Most recently my music has been impacted by the Outlaw Country movement with artists such as Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers and Cody Jinks.
I want my fans to be able to lose themselves in the music they hear from me, to be able to let go of stress and any negativity, I want people to physically feel good and happy with themselves, and their entire life in the very moment they are experiencing my music, as my goal in life is to help others. My late mother taught me that the most satisfying thing in life is working towards the end of human suffering, both physically and emotionally, and this is my part.

"Bad Bad Man" lyrics |
As I ride through the valley of the shadow of death I take a good long look at my life
I don't really know if there's much left, but there damn sure ain't much right.
If I had to answer for the things that I've done, and who I am
I'm a bad, bad man
Tell me keep on running cause the devil he’s comin' for the sins that I ain’t paid
Tell me keep on strummin' and a tappin' and a hummin' hoping he might lose his way
It’s been a long time comin' but the preacher mans tellin' me boy u already been damned
If I had to answer for the things I’ve done I’ve been a
Bad bad man
Well I've been known to break a few young girls hearts, back in the day.
Sad thing is, I don't even remember most of their names
If I had to answer for the things that I've done, and who I am
I'm a bad, bad man
Tell me keep on running cause the devil he’s comin' for the sins that I ain’t paid
Tell me keep on strummin' and a tappin' and a hummin' hoping he might lose his way
It’s been a long time comin' but the preacher mans tellin' me boy u already been damned
If I had to answer for the things I’ve done I’ve been a
Bad bad man
(Instrumental)
Tell me keep on running cause the devil he’s comin' for the sins that I ain’t paid
Tell me keep on strummin' and a tappin' and a hummin' hoping he might lose his way
It’s been a long time comin' but the preacher mans tellin' me boy u already been damned
If I had to answer for the things I’ve done I’ve been a
Real bad man
And if I had to answer for the things I’ve done I’ve been a
Bad bad man
Bad bad man
