This piano solo is from Alfred's Group Piano Book 2, pg. 320. The left hand crossings in measures 11-18 are challenging and need "target practice."
What is Lydian Mode? It is a different scale type from Major or Minor. The Lydian Mode is similar to the Major scale, but with a raised 4th note. So, this piece seems like it's in F major, but the B's are NOT flat, creating an uplifting and colorful character.
