The ocean provides endless opportunities for innovation and economic growth, a concept known as the blue economy. However, despite of its potential, the position of women in this exciting sector is still not equal in comparison with their male colleagues. Within the WINBLUE project (Empowering women and mainstreaming gender in the blue economy), financed through CINEA/EMFAF (European Maritime, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Fund) we are establishing mechanisms to collect data and perspectives in order to improve the position of women. Here are some perspectives from the experts who work in the blue economy.
