Today the Pride flag is once again flying over our Royal Roads University campus for Pride Week in Victoria.
Students Kate Langille Richard Fernandes joined me for the celebratory event—one that hasn’t failed to lift my spirits since we first flew it for the first time three years ago.
In that time, there has been a terrible, dispiriting battle waged against Two-Spirit, Trans and Queer people trying to live a life of peace, dignity and happiness. It isn’t new, sadly.
Nor is it new that we raise the flag as a symbol of protest as much as celebration.
Much like other marginalized communities who face oppression, our joy, too, is protest.
And so I invite you to join in this joy. You can find out how on our Pride webpage: [ Ссылка ]
