In recent days, the uncertainty in the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and BJP relationship has surfaced in the open. Kumar’s party JD-U expressed its differences with the ally BJP in public over several issues and Kumar has been seen distancing himself from the top leaders of the saffron party. The latest was on August 7 when Kumar did not attend a NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
