I don't know about him apart from his public persona, and as a Christian brother. It's refreshing and exciting to know that in the family of God, no matter what color or culture, we have a common identity as children of God. He gives a great take on the baggage of institutional church that makes people deconstruct their Christian faith. I add my 2 cents in on what the path of deconstruction and back to God looks like.
