Mr Josef's journey with LVPEI dates back to 1996. An unfortunate accident where bleach entered his eyes while washing clothes, robbed him of his vision. He consulted many doctors in his hometown in Goa, but his vision only became worse. By the time, he visited us at LVPEI, he had already lost the vision in his left eye. His case was very complicated and in such cases, even corneal transplant surgeries are not very successful. Dr Mukesh Taneja performed a cataract surgery which helped in restoring vision in his right eye. Since then, through regular follow-up and check-up appointments, efforts are on-going to safeguard the vision in his only seeing eye. Recalling his 26 year long journey with LVPEI, he said, "I can see today only because of Dr Taneja."
