I wish I would have known this a lot earlier in my business! Remember, I didn't make over $10 an hour running my business until my 7th year in business. I simply did not know stuff like this.

Please know I am only trying to speed up your learning curve as you grow your business! I want to see anyone and everyone succeed THAT is willing to put in the work, learn what they need to learn, hire experts to handle aspects of their business, become a LEADER, sacrifice, and so on while doing it all in the right way.

If you getting ahead puts someone else behind, I don't like what you are doing and am confident karma will catch up with you.

Determining your hourly rate is surprisingly simple...

How to determine your hourly rate (Same as, How to determine your man hour rate):

Account for ALL costs of running your business
[plus] A reasonable salary for yourself (the owner)
[divided by] Total hours worked

Example:

Cost: $100,000
Owner's Salary: $45,000
Hours Worked: 4,000 (between 2 employees)

($100,000 + $45,000) / 4,000 = $36.25

*BIG NOTE

You should aim to bring in more than $36.25 per hour (THIS IS JUST THE EXAMPLE NUMBER - NOT WHAT YOU SHOULD CHARGE!) because if you do not...there will be no money left in the business as profit.

Without profit, the owner will be forced to use his personal money to keep the business going when unexpected expenses arise such as a blown engine, transmissions, etc.

Don't feel bad about making money!*

*As long as you are providing value and running a reputable business!
