The authentic Palakkad Brahmin cooking in Tamil.
Ingredients:
Shallots (chinna vengaayam) - 1 cup
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Urad dal (uluttham paruppu) - 2 tbspoon
Channa dal(kadala paruppu ) - 2 tbspoon
Asafoetida (perungaayaam) - 1 pinch
Red chilly - 1
Green chilly - 2
Curry leaves - 2 strands
Jaggery(vellam) - 1 small piece
Tamarind (puli) - 1 gooseberry size
Salt - to taste
Water - as required
*Quantity of tamarind, chilly, jaggery depends on individual taste
Replace shallots with coconut, pudina, curry leaves for the respective thogayals
