Over 380 people in KwaZulu-Natal are contesting the municipal elections as independent candidates.
The number of independent candidates contesting the 2021 local government elections in the
eThekwini Municipality has seen a drastic rise, with more than 50 candidates hoping to get a
seat at the 200-member council chamber.
