JDM's are slowly making a comeback and I can definitely see why! Arthur and I both bought a V8 STI at around the same time many many years ago and we've been part of each other's car journey since. The S204 has always been special and I think that's especially true today.
I think the owner of the car will always have the best story to tell, so here are some comments from Arthur about his car.

1. So I have to ask, what made you get an S204 even though u already had a V8 STI in the past- some people might say it's almost the same car? (I should know, I bought a MK7R having owned a MK6 GTI in the past!)
A: The Hawk Eye/V9 has always been the model that I wanted to get. But at that time my budget only permitted me to get a V8 STI. Fast forward 4 years later, a friend of mine bought an M3 (my old M3!) and he had to let go his S204. Ironically this was the S204 which I convinced my friend to buy. So I kinda knew the history of this car ever since it landed in Malaysia back in 2007. It has always been a garage queen. And it still is till this day.
2. How does this compare to the Renault Megane RS that you had before this?
A: If you are a fan of MMORPG the Megane is like a wizard, and the S204 is like a barbarian. As far as I can remember, I’ve always played the barbarian/brute class. Secondly, I was at a stage where I was really into ECU tuning and the S204 has an opensource platform where I could learn. Whereas the Megane at that time was being locked down by a few tuners in Europe.
3. What do you like most about the S204?
A: It’s a limited production car. Every upgraded part from the factory is properly done to make the car perform and look better. For example the bigger turbo, oil cooler, balanced engine, Yamaha performance dampers, suspension bits, thicker anti-roll bar, Recaro bucket seats with CF shell, CF front lip, and BBS forged wheels.
And because it’s a limited edition car, it’s also preventing me from doing major mods to it, thus helping me spend less.
4. How has the maintenance of the car been?
A: Ever since I took ownership of the car, I’ve only had to do regular maintenance like oil change, spark plugs, brake pads. The one major problem I experienced was a faulty front o2 sensor. Other than that, the car has been perfect. touch wood
5. What are your future plans for the car?
A: I really really want to get the HKS GT-III RS Turbo kit. But like I mentioned earlier, with it being a limited edition car its kinda holding me back. Right now it’s at 72,000km. So I’m gonna be doing quite a major service when it hits 75k. Timing belt, water pump, a few bushings for the suspension and all the lubricants in the car.
