Born and raised in Hong Kong, Jeff is Indian by descent. Growing up, he experienced the Otherness of not being Chinese enough to be Chinese but also not Indian enough to be Indian. On the path to a life of petty crimes, Jeff was saved by a social worker and followed in his footsteps, becoming one of the first ethnic minority social workers in Hong Kong. Jeff devotes his time to improving the lives of refugees and ethnic minority groups in his home city. Jeff’s work has enabled him to speak at a United Nations Committee, has been recognized by the Home Affairs Bureau, and has been rewarded with a Cathay ChangeMakers award for contributions that have brought about positive changes to society. He continues to pursue a better future for minorities here in Hong Kong and an evolved perception of what a Hong Konger is. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Jeff is Indian by descent.
