J. C. "Kid" Nichols goes on safari in Africa for 6 months from 1929 to 1930, from Nairobi to Cairo. Will Richard, a taxidermist from Cody, WY, accompanies him throughout the safari. He takes at least two of every major species including an elephant that was being kept on a preserve for the Prince of Wales. Those tusks were the tenth largest in the world at about 8' 8" each and over 130 lbs. each.
