In Open Heart Surgery we open the chest by cutting the sternum, the center bone and then we make a big incision right from the whole of chest is open to replace the aortic valve. In TAVR no such thing happens. There is no incision on the chest. So this is done through a very minimal. So the root of entry will be one of the major arteries like femoral artery, axillary artery or a carotid artery. So we replace the valve without even making any incisions on the chest.
