Don't Panic! is a fast-paced game where players must quickly and correctly name four to eight examples of a given topic in order to make it to the finish space on the board. The game is for two to 18 players and can be played individually or on teams. The first player spins the arrow to determine the number of correct responses he needs in order to advance on the game board. Another player draws a card and reads aloud the question matching the color of the space the first player is on. The card reader then press the start button on the timer and the panic begins. Topics include penalties in football, supplies using in baking, movies with time travel in them, James Bond movies, and animals you would find on a farm.
As soon as the guessing player shouts out enough answers to equal the number he spun, he smacks the start/stop button on the timer. The number the button points to is the number of spaces that player gets to advance on the board. The faster you answer, the more spaces you get to move. If the timer sounds before the player is able to give enough correct responses, he does not advance on the board.
If a player lands on a space marked with an X, he does not spin the arrow because he must provide the maximum eight correct responses. The card reader gets to choose whatever topic he wants.
The game ends when a player on the finish space calls out all eight of his answers before the timer sounds. If he can't, he remains on the finish space and tries again on his next turn.
Don't Panic! comes with a game board, a timer, 85 cards with 850 questions, six pawns, an arrow, and instructions.
