How to carve a wooden spoon start to finish.
From axing out the spoon blank and carving it while the wood is still green, to making the finishing cuts once the wood has dried.
0:00 - I begin by carving a crank into the wood using a small hatchet, followed by drawing out my design.
0:18 - Once my design has been drawn on the wood, I can roughly remove most of the bulk.
1:11 - I begin carving the finer details using a sloyd knife.
1:50 - Hollowing out the bowl using a hook knife.
2:14 - Once the spoon has dried, I can make one final *very shallow* pass over the entire surface to refine the shape.
