► ABOUT
Marcelo is a Brazilian electric and upright bass player. Graduate
from Berklee College of music, he has since moved to New York
where he had the chance to perform and record with high-level
musicians as a sideman but also a leader. Marcelo has two
albums under his name, first on being “Looking Ahead” where
the music features his Brazilian background and South American
rhythms. And latest release “Boundless”, where Marcelo and his
trio can be heard performing modern and electric compositions
where the bass is featured as a soloist and harmonic instrument.
Marcelo’s compositions aim to sound modern with the use of
electric instruments and effects but with elements from
traditional jazz such as improvisation and communication
between the musicians.
