Could this V12 Ferrari be one of the greatest cars they've ever made!? I'm at @meritpartners in Atlanta to check out the brand new showroom with some incredible cars on display, before taking the keys to a truly special model from Maranello to find out!
Today's car of choice is of course the fabulous Ferrari F12tdf, the Tour de France based on the F12berlinetta platform. This particular example is finished in the magnificent multi-layer Rosso F1 2007 paint amongst an overload of bespoke top-level options. The F12tdf quickly became famed for its reputation as an edgy beast, a wild stallion that needs taming, and one that will happily bite if you are not careful.
Quickly upon arrival, prices for the F12tdf shot sky high, doubling the factory list MSRP, before the took a dive and softened back to only just over a mere few years ago. However, that's now reversed, and to pick up a TDF you are looking into 7-figures, $1m+, and I believe that's for some very, very good reasons.
Before we go out for a drive, let's explore for the first time, the brand new Merit Partners showroom. Open by appointment, the showroom instantly greets you with a spectacular display; currently housing Ferrari F50 002 that was the original Frankfurt Motorshow car, a delivery mileage Ford GT Carbon Series, the McLaren P1 VP4 that I actually filmed a decade ago as the car that ran the Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb, and both a Porsche 918 Spyder and Carrera GT amongst others.
However, the feeling is homely, like hanging out at your friend's garage, which just so happens to have a view over a stunning display of inventory, and certainly a vibe I'm trying to replicate with my office build at @TheShmuseum back at home.
