The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), in Chandigarh, became the first health institute in the country to use artificial intelligence to detect liver and oral cancer in the initial stages. The institute has collected data of 2000 liver cancer patients and 2500 oral cancer patients, along with 15 to 20 thousand digital images. As per researchers, these images and data will be used to detect the different stages of cancer and help in its treatment.
