What a day of Joy for the Catholics of the West of Scotland.
The Catholic Metropolitan St Andrew's Cathedral, Glasgow celebrated its 200th Anniversary today on Saint Andrew's Day! Archbishop Phillip Tartaglia of the Archdiocese of Glasgow led the celebration alongside Archbishop Mario Conti and Bishop Joseph Toal of the Diocese of Motherwell.
The Cathedral was packed and all who attended will attest to the dignity and joy of this Saint Andrew's Day. 200 years ago this church was a beacon of hope for many Catholics in the west of Scotland some of whom walked for miles for Mass there. May we continue this legacy and be strong in the faith.
