The Love Machine was a series of audio-visual performances which took place at the Science Museum, London, on 27 June 2018 as part of the Museum and Pride in London's Sexuality Lates event. Based on laboratory research into the neuroscience of romantic compatibility conducted at the Burden Neurological Institute in Bristol in the 1950s, the performance utilised a couple's brainwave patterns to produce original music and visuals.
The Love Machine is the result of a collaboration between Sam Hatchwell and Geraint Morgan (A House In The Trees) and Dave Saunders (Centre for the History of the Emotions, Queen Mary University of London). The project was made possible through the generous funding of the Centre for Public Engagement, Queen Mary University of London.
