In this video, we will see how to fill W-8BEN form for providing United States tax information on AdSense. It is to submit tax information for the calculation of applicable taxes on payment from AdSense.

W-8 forms are United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) forms that foreign individuals and businesses. It is used by foreign persons or business entities to claim exempt status from certain withholdings. There are 2 types of W-8 forms listed in AdSense for US Tax info. W-8BEN is to be filled by Non-United States "Individuals" to claim tax treaty benefits. W-8ECI forms are to be filled by Non-United States "Businesses" or "Individuals" who file United States tax returns. Since we are an Individual account and we are applying to get tax exemptions and tax benefits as per the tax treaty, we are filling W-8BEN form.

In the video, the applicant has Indian citizenship. Any non-US individual can refer video for application. The only changes will be with respect to the Foreign Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). Applicant, if he/she chooses to provide TIN details, will need to provide the details as per their nationality.
