Countries in the Pacific Islands are at a crossroads. Throughout the 20th century, the region was severely impacted by nuclear weapons testing, the effects of which are still felt today. These challenges are compounded by the region’s vulnerability to climate change and the escalating US-China geopolitical competition in the region. What does the future of the Pacific Islands look like in this environment?

Join us on June 19 from 1:00pm to 2:15pm KST for a webinar exploring the interplay of climate change, nuclear policies and practices, and geopolitical dynamics in the Pacific. The event will feature a panel of Pacific experts and a discussion on the findings from our “Voices from Pacific Island Countries: Nuclear Disarmament and the Anthropocene” project. The findings will also be published in a project synthesis report on APLN’s website on June 11.
