Exercises that simulate a variety of different kinds of conflicts on these islands have been organized in order to guarantee that the United States military is prepared for any potential war that may arise.
Approximately one hundred marines from the United States and the Philippines participated in the exercises respectively. A ship belonging to the United States Navy swam to the coast, deployed amphibious tanks, and disembarked Marines as part of the drills.
