Kiribati is a country in the central Pacific Ocean made up of 33 islands, 50% of Kiribati’s population lives on the main island of Tarawa - where the national hospital is located.
Access to secondary medical care is limited for i-Kiribati people living on the outer islands. An MSF team has worked with government nurses and medical assistants on 8 islands to improve maternal and neonatal care, since October 2022.
