Reading for Vocabulary is a four-level reading series for young learners of English at ages 10 or above. The series aims to develop young learners’ vocabulary and overall language skills through exposure to a variety of topics. The series instructor Brian Stuart provides for learners a highly dynamic and entertaining lessons. So learners will be able to learn a large number of vocabulary with fun and ease.

💓Lesson 13 Energy
Do you like to run and jump?
When you move you use energy.
If you move faster you use more energy.
Energy does work.

There are different kinds of energy.
Heat energy makes things warm.
Earth gets heat from the sun.
The sun warms you too.
If you are cold then just stand in the sun.
Heat comes from fire too.
We use fire to warm our homes.
We also use heat to cook our food.

Light energy lets us see.
The sun gives light.
Light bulbs and candles give light too.
Some bugs even give off light.
Have you ever caught a lightning bug?
Light goes through windows.
Many things stop light.
These things make shadows.

Sound is energy you can hear.
You can make sound.
Try. Sing or talk or even shout!
A louder sound means more energy.
