The Embers' house, on the southern edge of Kissel Hill in Lititz, Pennsylvania, earned gold LEED certification — the first home in Lancaster County to achieve that recognition and only the seventh in the state.
Developed by the nonprofit U.S. Green Building Council, LEED ratings compare the design, construction and operation of green buildings and neighborhoods to nationally accepted benchmarks.
