John's annual Harvest Ale offering is here. This year, he brewed it with Verdant IPA yeast and all homegrown Chinook Hops.

This beer screams out a classic West Coast old school American Pale Ale. It is bitter, resiny and packed with pine and grapefruit aromas and flavors. All the hops were Chinook and they were all grown and harvested in John's backyard.

The coolness factor here was our impressed reaction to the Verdant IPA yeast from Lallemand. Not that we expected less than excellence but it was a real joy to get such a well balanced hoppy ale with homegrown hops. This yeast is new to us and really did a great job blending the malt character with that hop profile.
