Playing sports is all fun and games until someone dislocates a jaw, ends up with a missing tooth or hole in a lip! The sports most known for dental injuries are hockey, football, basketball, boxing or martial arts, and wrestling. It's these sports that typically require players to get a protective mouthguard to prevent dental injuries. However, they might also also be recommended for other sports like soccer, lacrosse and baseball and even shot-putting. Although you want a mouth guard to cover all of the teeth to protect them, another factor to consider is how well you can breath and communicate with teammates.
