Slovakia intends to acquire the CV90 MkIV IFV infantry fighting vehicle from BAE Systems Hägglunds.
Bid proposals have been submitted by the Swedish Defense Material Administration (FMV) together with BAE Systems regarding the tender released by the Slovak Ministry of Defense for the procurement of 152 IFVs.
CV90 ranks first of the requirements required by Slovakia. This decision was taken based on a feasibility report released by the Slovak Ministry of Defense last month.
Under the IFV program, the Slovak Army requires various variants of the CV90 MkIV which includes a turret version as well as an engineering and recovery vehicle.
Related aspects such as training, tactics and future vehicle development are also part of the programme.
BAE Systems Hägglunds also offered to collaborate with local Slovak industry to develop and deliver vehicles on time and within budget.
