Head lice and nits are, unfortunately, a common experience for kids. Regularly checking your child's hair is the best way to spot the first signs of head lice, and treat them effectively.

Follow our step-by-step guide to wet-comb hair to remove head lice...

- What you'll need...
A towel, conditioner, hair brush or wide tooth comb, hair clips, lice removal comb and a tissue.

- What to do...
1) Seat your child in a well-lit area
2) Cover hair with conditioner and comb through to remove knots
3) Section out the hair and clip it away
4) Start at the roots with the lice comb and draw through the hair making sure the comb teeth are touching the scalp
5) Wipe the comb onto the tissue and check for lice or nits
6) Comb each section twice
