In 1888, Edward's future bride Alice Roberts wrote a poem entitled 'Love's Grace', dedicated to his future husband. In return, Edward turned the poem in to a piece of music, Liebesgruss (Love’s Greeting). Later translated to France Salut d' Amour by the publisher. They married a year later.
Although it is a standard encore piece, it's not easy for my level of playing.

Tahun 1888, calon istri Edward Elgar, Alice Roberts menulis sebuah puisi untuk calon suaminya berjudul Love's Grace. Edward membalas puisi itu dengan menggubah puisi tersebut menjadi sebuah karya musik yang diberi judul Liebesgruss (Love’s Greeting). Kemudian karya ini diubah judulnya menjadi Salut d'Amour oleh penerbitnya.
