Maniacs from Dnepropetrovsk' is a name given by the media to the killers responsible for a series of murders in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, in June and July 2007. The case gained notoriety due to recordings of some murders, one of which ended up on the internet. . Two 19-year-olds, Viktor Sayenko (Russian: Виктор Саенко) and Igor Suprunyuck (Ukrainian: Ігор Супрунюк, ), were charged with committing 21 murders[1][2] and Alexander Hanzha, (Ukrainian: Олександр Ганжа) , Russian: Александр Ганжа), a third accomplice, was charged with two armed robberies that took place prior to the murders.[3][4] On February 11, 2009, the three were found guilty. Suprunyuck and Sayenko are sentenced to life in prison, and Hanzha received 9 years in prison. Lawyers for Suprunyuck and Sayenko appealed the charges, which were dismissed by Ukraine's Supreme Court in November
