Footage of Black Panther Party Minister of Defence Huey Newton on the day that he was released from prison on $50,000 bail.
Newton, then 28 years old, had been convicted of voluntary manslaughter of a policeman after being arrested in October 1967.
He had served nearly two years of a two-to-fifteen year prison sentence and had spent close to a year in custody before the trial.
He was set free following a California Supreme Court ruling that he had to be tried again because of errors made by the Judge during his 1968 trial.
